I can’t believe we’re in our third week at Dev Bootcamp.  Today was SQL day and the exercises were challenging but good for learning.  By 8pm I was mentally drained and needed to unplug.  

Instead of going home I decided to watch some comedy on my laptop.  Can’t tell you how refreshing it was to take a few hours off and laugh.  I will definitely do this again in the future.    

Phase 2 is just around the corner and I’m very excited to learn jQuery and JavaScript.  I need to schedule some time to finish reading Practical Object Oriented Design (POODR) and review it.  I also need to schedule some time to go through a jQuery tutorial (Codecademy or Code School).

Today I learned that it’s good to be frustrated when refactoring bad code.    It’s hard to refactor bad code without breaking some functionality or rewriting it.  It takes time to practice maintaining and refactoring other people’s code this week.
